Operational Excellence & Leadership Development

Mike Keen

I'm driven by the conviction that truly effective business transformation is a human endeavour. It's about more than just strategy and technology; it's about helping people within the organisation evolve their mindsets and behaviours to achieve a shared vision.

With over 20 years of experience delivering multiple projects driving operational excellence using Lean Six Sigma tools and methods across a diverse range of sectors, including financial services, the public sector, manufacturing, and consumer goods, success always comes back to the people.

What sets my approach apart is my belief that the tools and methods are most effective when flexed to the unique culture of an organisation. I've found that true, sustainable transformation happens through a focus on people, their commitment, and the subtle power of conversations and 'nudges.' I believe in amplifying what is working well and building on that momentum, rather than just fixating on what's broken.

I thrive on helping leaders turn the challenges they face during times of change into opportunities to build a more resilient and confident workforce and over the years, I've had the satisfaction of helping clients achieve significant benefits through the power of people and their commitment to a shared vision.

I look forward to working with you, your leaders, and your team members in creating an empowering environment for them to excel.

Leadership Development & Culture change

Rich Adams

I'm a leadership and culture expert with a varied career across several sectors, including energy, management consultancy, and the Armed Forces. My leadership journey began at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, where I received top-tier officer training.

As a commissioned officer in the British Army, I led soldiers during active operations, which really honed my leadership skills in high-pressure situations. After my time in the Army, I continued to lead actively in commodity trading.

I've also served as Director of Operations for an energy supplier before moving to PA Consulting. At PA, I focused on culture change and leader development for a variety of renewable and nuclear energy organizations.

I'm a self-professed culture nerd. I've studied all kinds of organizations, from sports teams to Michelin-starred kitchens, to understand what makes great cultures exceptional and how they drive performance. As a leadership development expert, I'm passionate about coaching, teaching, and empowering others. I have experience working in complex, safety-critical environments to embed transformations and I lead programs that create tangible value through people.

Chris Taylor

It has always interested me why people join a business in the first place and even more so as to why they leave.

The bit in the middle where people take the decision to stay or leave is the real intrigue for me. How managers strive to keep the balance for targeted results whilst keeping their staff happy and the consequences their behaviours create on other levels within the business. Internal relationships, wellbeing, the business reputation, client satisfaction, client retention, growth etc. This is where I have spent a lot of my time understanding how the good managers... do maintain the balance retaining their good staff and adversely the poorer ones that don't. It can be difficult as a manager to maintain this balance and mistakes are easily made, I've made many.

My dad used the expression 'some live & learn and some just live'. I've carried this with me throughout my adult life, looking to learn from my mistakes to understand why & how I could do better. Learning and self-development is a wonderful thing.

I'm still making mistakes today (maybe not as many as I used to) but hope I'm better in recognising and by learning from them I'm not repeating.

Having worked with 100's of people both reporting to and from and to training 1000's I've experienced the extremes. Behaviours, habits, character traits, mainly unintentional, mistakenly and repeatedly thinking their methods in managing are acceptable approaches in looking after their people.

So, if we can eradicate these mistaken beliefs with slight adjustments, bringing awareness and provide methods to encourage behaviour change we can move everyone to a better, peaceful and more confident state of mind.

This is what I do.

It's been a long and varied journey for me to arrive here. A place I thoroughly enjoy, where I'm helping others and developing myself at the same time, providing tips to increase their confidences to move them to better places too.

Coach, facilitator and People Developer

Katherine Davis

As a business psychologist, I help leaders and organisations unlock human potential through psychological insight, inclusive strategy, and people-powered transformation.

With over 20 years’ experience across consulting, healthcare, government, and global corporates, I blend behavioural science, empathy, and data-informed design to drive meaningful, lasting change. My philosophy is simple: sustainable transformation isn’t just about systems or strategy—it’s about shifting mindsets, evolving behaviours, and cultivating cultures that support a shared vision.

Whether coaching C-suite executives, designing enterprise-wide talent systems, or facilitating team effectiveness in high-pressure environments, I bring calm clarity to complex challenges. My focus is on building resilient, confident workforces by aligning people strategy with purpose—and amplifying what’s already working well to create momentum.

Areas of expertise include:

  • Leadership development, executive coaching & board facilitation
  • Talent strategy, career frameworks & succession planning
  • Employee experience, performance management & EVP strategy
  • DEI, inclusive cultures & values-led organisational change

Known for translating complexity into clear direction, my approach is warm, methodical, and deeply human. I believe in the subtle power of conversations, nudges, and culture-shaping moments—and in creating environments where people feel seen, supported, and empowered to thrive.

Operational excellence & leadership development

Kevin Ollivier

I am passionate about Operational Excellence and staff development, taking great pride in helping individuals and organisations grow and continuously improve.

As a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt with over 28 years of global experience, I have trained, coached, and delivered the full Lean Six Sigma portfolio across both Private and Public sectors. My career spans Transactional, Operational, GMP, Regulatory, and Logistics environments where I have served as a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt, Continuous Improvement Manager and Management Consultant.

I specialise in knowledge transfer, enabling organisations to unlock untapped potential and achieve measurable performance improvements. Central to this is building supportive cultures that sustain long-term change. I work closely with clients to shape these environments, tailoring services to align with business needs and objectives.

My approach is practical, people-first, and results-driven. Real change, in my experience, comes from empowering individuals while ensuring their efforts align with organisational goals. I am skilled at building trust quickly—from front line teams to C-suite executives—which accelerates the delivery of meaningful lasting change.

The most successful change programmes emphasise customer value, process discipline, data-driven decision-making, employee engagement, and a culture of continuous improvement.

I look forward to partnering with organisations to deliver transformational change and sustained results.

Coaching, strategy and operational excellence

Colin Nicklas

I am a dynamic senior business consultant, executive coach, and inspirational speaker driven by the core conviction that true organisational excellence is built on empowered people. My mission is to help clients write their story arc, guiding their ascent “from vision to excellence”.

With 35 years’ experience leading people and a proven track record of managing systems and change in challenging environments, my work focuses on three critical components to bridge the gap between current reality and future success:

  • Strategy: Forging robust strategies that translate ambitions into actionable plans, always starting with a clear vision of success
  • Operational Excellence: Developing and implementing operational plans using proven methodologies to deliver the strategy
  • Continuous Improvement: Embedding cycles of learning and refinement to drive sustainable growth and enhanced impact

My extensive experience spans 24 years as an engineer officer in the Royal Navy — culminating in a strategic role in the Ministry of Defence — and 14 years as a consultant. I have worked across diverse sectors including Defence and Energy (leading a project that saved one oil client $250 million in 3 years), Transport (Network Rail, Calmac Ferries), and the Public Sector (NHS, Ministry of Justice, local government.

Crucially, all this work is underpinned by a deep focus on leadership development and executive and performance coaching. As a qualified Executive Coach and former Director of the Royal Naval Leadership Academy, I keep people development at the heart of my approach.

My professional insights are powerfully combined with lessons learned during the world’s toughest footrace, the Marathon des Sables. I completed this ultra-endurance, multi-stage 250km event in the Sahara Desert, carrying all my food and equipment in temperatures up to just nine weeks after being diagnosed with an unhealed, broken, ankle. I now draw on this experience and a lifetime of leadership to deliver high-impact, inspirational talks on leadership, motivation, teamwork, and resilience.

I am ready to roll up my sleeves and partner with your organisation to make things measurably better.

People development

Nathan Dring

I am a specialist in people development, through the entire colleague life cycle – including values-based recruitment, induction, in-role development, identifying and developing future leaders and executive development and coaching. Though spread throughout the organisational hierarchy all of these interventions are designed to shift performance and productivity, by changing how people show up to work – and how they bring a better version of themselves more often. Let’s face it, no one brings their ‘A-game’ every day, but by being intentional about the tone and topic of conversations with the organisation, I help to shift the culture to something that is productive and high performing. This is done with individuals and teams – all pulling the same direction for the same mission.

I also specialise in helping start-ups and scale ups to get the ‘people-foundations’ in place, so that culture and leadership don’t become the blockers to growth and success. I’m a fractional Head of OD and Head of L&D – for the times you need to plug in someone with ideas, energy and expertise, but don’t yet need to invest in the fixed overheads of a new function.

I have worked in and for global corporates (Walmart and thebigword) as head of learning and engagement, as a consultant in PA Consulting and run my own bespoke consultancy practice for over 5 years.

This is the stuff I get out of bed for – it makes a huge, tangible difference to the clients I work with, and can do the same for you.
